Pegasus 55
High Performance Racer/Cruiser

Pegasus  55 Sailing Photos

Philippe Kahn, internationally known competitor in boats ranging from dinghies to maxi sleds, picked Alan Andrews Yacht Design to design his latest Pegasus. We worked with Philippe developing Pegasus 55 to fit his requirements for a  light, fast, strong, comfortable boat that would fill the multiple roles of weekend vacation apartment, family day sailor, offshore racer and still be single-handed. All sail controls lead to the cockpit where an electric halyard winch assists in raising the main and sheeting the self tacking jib. Safety features include three watertight bulkheads, decks devoid of toe stubbing hardware and convenient handholds above and below deck. Pegasus 55 is constructed with America's Cup level laminate technology of pre-preg carbon fiber over a combination of nomex honeycomb and SuperLite balsa cores to keep performance top notch while encompassing the best in cruising amenities. Accommodations include fore and aft staterooms in addition to a large main cabin. Galley and navigation station are centrally located and include full cruising amenities.
